Yes , but you're talking about arnold render view, not maya render window .

But even Arnold render view after checking "show render tile" isn't showing that tiles

using 3.0.1 , I think it's a little bug , can you check please ?

it would be nice to see tiles in both render views (maya and also arnold render view)

No, only the Arnold RenderView with which it works fine for me.
