Issues with xgen procedural with MtoA 3.0.0.x

For our project we have a setup to cache the hair as StandIn sequences for every character, but without expanding the procedurals (which would take massive amounts of space).

The setup works beautifully with MtoA 2.1.0.3 but keeps crashing when rendering images on the farm with MtoA 3.0.0.x.

We are using Maya 2017.5 and render using kick.

We would very much love to use MtoA 3 to get all the adaptive sampling and denoise goodness but because of this issue we can't switch right now.

Thanks,

F
