Arnold shader nodes breaking/disappearing after re-open.

Hello,

I'm using MaxtoA and I created some complex shaders with many nodes for my scene. When I save the scene and re open it, the shaders remain but many parts of the node network are completely gone. Can someone help me out.

Thanks.

**Update

I've been slowly going crazy trying to figure out why this is happening. I've tried creating a new material library and adding my shaders to it but that doesn't help. The shaders randomly lose nodes regardless of which library they are in. It seems totally arbitrary which ones it happens to as well....

I'm adding an image this time to show what the shader was when I built it out and then what it looks like after the program decides to delete most of it. I should mention that WHEN it decides to delete them is random but the nodes it decides to delete is always the same, meaning I'm always left with those same three nodes you see in the AFTER shot.

Yep, it seems material libraries with Arnold not works properly. I found this some time ago when tried out Mix node based material in library. It lost half of nodes.

I think we sould submit it as bug.

Yup, we should. I have been playing around with this more trying to figure out the exact point at which it happened and it happens consistently with mix shaders but sometimes with other nodes. Upon saving the materials as part of a material library, large portions of the network are permanently lost. Can we get a solidangle rep in here to confirm the bug please.

For clarity, I'm using 3d Studio Max 2018 with the latest release of MaxtoA - Version 2.0.938

I should mention, I did a completely fresh install of Max and Arnold today just to make sure there wasn't something weird with my installation. Same bug after clean install of both. I'm on Windows 10.1

We have been having this problem with the mix shader as well. Randomly the 2 input shaders will simply disappear on re-open. Attempting to reconnect them using the compact material editor results in 1 shader always disappearing while you connect the other. Using the slate editor, you can reconnect them, but only if you have them saved individually. It's becoming a major annoyance.

This is a known issue and it's logged. It's a problem with connections to closure parameters (shaders like the Mix shader don't have color connections, they have what's called a "closure" connection).
