Using vanilla Maya Fluids shading with Arnold 5 in Maya 2018.
The opacity texture (the cell-like structured on the fireball) is very blurry - even at super premium render settings ( fluid res = 250, Volume Samples and AA = 5, fluid step size = 0.05) . See attached screenshot.arnold-question.png
Is there a way to get them sharp?
What I am looking for is the detail of Lee's Lava cloud on the examples page - without having to resort to vdb's and the aiVolumeShader - it all needs to stay within vanilla Maya.
Any advice appreciated.
