Threadripper 2, & Quadro RTX 5000 or GeForce RTX 2080Ti!

Hey All,

So, I i'm in the process of building my own custom PC. I just recently pre-order the Threadripper 2 to better run Arnold. Which i'm super excited for!

I have known for some time about Arnold GPU and was super excited to see it at Siggraph 2018. Arnold GPU / Nvidia RTX / Threadripper 2 / Siggraph 2018 So, i was even more excited to see the Quadro RTX Series and now the finally the Geforce RTX 20 Series. I just pre-ordered 2 Geforce RTX 2080Ti.

My question is am i better off getting a Quadro RTX 5000 or 2x RTX 2080ti for Arnold GPU? I know the tech is fairly new but i also know Nvidia has patterned with you guys to better set up the Arnold GPU.

Any thoughts or info would be greatly appreciated! THANKS!

Frankly, makes no sense to me at this time. ArnoldGPU is not even out, so what you're asking for ? Get one ti for games and have fun 🙂

Well, I don’t really game on PCs, I’m sure that will change though when I get my first PC hahaha. Ray tracing baby! Lol

Granted I don’t know when Arnold GPU will come out but it’s very close....I can feel it lol. I’m just trying to be ready for what’s coming as well as what’s present. Which is why I went with threadripper 2nd gen with 32 cores and 64threads.

As far as GPU, arnold isn’t the only renderer I’ll be using it for. Redshift and octane already said they will be taking advantage of the new Turing archistructure as well. Their forums are ablaze with talks of it. Which will be coming out soon! I hope this forum would be too.
