Ramp RGB to bump map

I have a grey and white pattern created in Arnold ramp_rgb node (no interpolation). When I plug this into the bump2d node and connect to Normal geometry input I get no bump. Is there some other node I need to apply here?

Thanks.

Sounds correct to me when the ramp has no interpolation. What is your pattern, what would you like to achieve?

Hi! Can you share a screenshot of your Ramp RGB?

Hey @Carlos Dordelly . Sorry for the long delay in my reply. I had to move onto a different solution to finish that job.

I'm now into another job where I wanted the ramp to create lines to serve as a bump map and the same thing happened again...nothing. Here's a screenshot of my setup.

To achieve this effect you need a little filtering in the input. For example using a Linear interpolation in the ramp to have slight falloff on each side of the lines.

You can also use a checkerboard shader if the lines are equally distributed.
