Custom Shaders -> Params not appearing in Hypershade

There was no probleam with arnold 4 .. now from 5 and the same setup, parameters don't appear in the hypershade until one links them from the attribute window. Tested with other custom shader outthere and all exhibit the same behaviour.

Is there some new attribute keyword to use from .mtd to have params in the hypershade ?

Sure there's also a bug because it can't be that HardwareColor and NormalCamera appear there by default.

No one on this? Does your shaders appear correctly in the Maya hypershade then?

Hello Max,

this is actually a Maya thing. For custom shaders, you need to create templates to choose which parameters appear in the hypershade. If you check MtoA installation folder, in scripts/mtoa/ui/templates, you have lots of templates, like NEaiUtilityTemplate.xml, for MtoA shaders, on which the chosen parameters for Node Editor / Hypershade are listed. I'm not sure of why something would have changed between Arnold 4 and Arnold 5 though...

Ops ... I had :

MTOA_CUSTOM_TEMPLATE_PATH

instead of

MAYA_CUSTOM_TEMPLATE_PATH

thanks for the help, max
