Dear Arnold community,

Lately I've been running into this issue where my 3ds max Arnold render shows me some weird artefacts. Those "dead pixels" don't have any alpha. And i can tell they're not fireflies oder otherwise clipped information since they appear randomly all over my rendered .exr. I can't explain how this happens. I'm rendering about 40 similar shots and most of them are just fine.

A bit more information:

- Rendering with 3ds max 2018 and Arnold

- HDRI used for image based lighting and reflections

- AA and glossiness clamping activated but I rendered similar shots to this one where it didn't seem to be a problem

- 6, 4 ,3 rays

Would really appreciate it if someone could help me. 🙂

Cheers

Robin

Hi,

I just had the same issue on Maya.

The problem was the indirect rays comming from my ground geo with an aiStandardSurface and a projected texture on it. It seams the texture had weird pixel values, so i just added a clamp node after the file texture node and it fixed the problem.

Cheers
