Error trying to render HtoA on mac OS 10.11.1

OS: Mac 10.11.1

H: 16.0.705

HtoA: htoa-2.1.2_rc09140a_houdini-16.0.671_darwin

I finally got Arnold to show up in Houdini and linked it to my license file. When I tried to render I get this error “Error: Failed to save output to file “Traceback(most recent call last):” I'm not sure what I did wrong here so I'm looking for help.

Please post an Arnold log for the render. And if there's an error on the Arnold ROP, please post the full text.

How do I find that? I am new to Houdini. I can send you my test file.
I'm taking an online class but the teacher doesn't have access to a mac to help me with this problem. I have since re-installed Houdini and the matching HtoA version.

Set the log verbosity to Debug, enable file logging, and render something to file (not IPR).

Can we see a detailed Arnold log for the render that crashes?

Enable file logging so you get the log. And start Houdini from a Houdini Command Prompt, so we can the startup log too.

It's a known issue that has to be fixed in HtoA. HtoA is linked to a lib symbol that's available only on OSX 10.12

This is fixed in the upcoming HtoA 2.2.0.

As a hotfix, you can try to replace libzmp.3.dylib in your HtoA installation with this one: libzmq3dylib.zip
