Aitoon Issues I can't Solve

I have a few questions that pertain to AItoon Shader which I cannot find anywhere and am hoping someone can help me out here.

1. I can't seem to understand why the shader has a setup where it's mostly in shadows. Can someone help me figure out how to manipulate the shadows, because when I use Directional Light, at even its maximum, it gives me very little light to manipulate over.

The image above shows 3 colors, but even when I apply the middle color right up against the last color, the last [shadow] color is still dominant lol.

2. Also, when I zoom out, the toon lines tend to darken the entire model. And the light begins to dim off of them. I wonder if anyone knows how to fix this? This might be detrimental for scenery animations, which involves numerous characters.

Increasing the exposure or rotating the light can have a dramatic effect on the Toon shading. Alternatively, adjust the position of the ramp colors.

You can change the Edge Thickness or the Contour Filter width to compensate for this. Please upload an image if this is not what you mean.
