beauty pass missing

we are starting to test rR20 with Arnold, noticed that the beauty or "background" pass is missing. did something change in the way we set up AOVs? attached are screen grabs,

I'm not sure I'm following. The beauty pass is not listed as a layer, because it's the actual image (rgba buffer). It was always the case.

ok let me send you a very simple project and the photoshop file with layers that is coming out of R20.

Hi Peter,

please take a look at the screen grabs psd files and c4d file, the background layer is clearly missing from the R20 version arnold-r20-test.zip

Ahh I see. That Background pass is created by Cinema 4D, not Arnold. As I see it's only there in R19. Probably MAXON removed it in R20.
