Does Arnold support rendering visibility of an object

I have often used visibility as a means of introducing an object in to an animated scene. This is access through an objects properties dialog box.It is very useful as you can easily fade in an object of 50 frames. When I try to do the same using Arnold as the render the object stay opaque at all times.

Would keyframing the opacity work?

For Arnold, opacity is the closest thing to "visibility" (because for Arnold, an object is either visible or not eg visible to a camera ray or not).

You can animate opacity, which is a shader parameter.
