Render Setting Question in Maya

2473-arnold.png

I have very poor English. Please understand.

※ Please Check upper image when you read my questions.

I check this image and started render.

https://docs.arnoldrenderer.com/display/ARP/Removing+Noise+Workflow

And I heard in Arnold homepage that if I want to remove noise in Diffuse_Direct and Specular_Direct pass, I should control Camera(AA) or Light Sample.

Diffuse_Indirect and Specular_Indirect pass can control Diffuse and Specular in Render Setting.

And in homepage, 3~4 Sample is good in Light Sample.

if Value of Camera(AA) is about 4, it's medium quality. (16 samples)

about 8 is high quality.

and 12 value is rarely set.

that's the things that I understand.

And I started rendering.

Q.1 First Question is render setting and render time.

I think that camera AA value is too high. ('cause I set value about 12~36 samples when I used V-ray)

If the value that multiply with AA value and specular is about 30 samples, specular Indirect noise looks cool noise solved. So I set value AA and specular like 7,4 or 5,6.

You can check light sample in upper image.

Render size is 1280*1771. But that render time is too too slow.

about 1 hour 30 minutes.

Is there any problem in my render setting??

Q.2 When you see Arnold RenderView, even though that render is finished, the time in bottom log window is 00:00:00.

I want to check how many time when rendering, and when I rendering, how much percentage complete. (like V-ray)

Is there any solution?

Q.3 When I render using vray, my bucket count is 8.

But when I use arnold, my bucket count is 6 (even though Autodect Threads is check)

I want to know why.

Q.4 Does Arnold have isolated Render? Like Render Mask in vray.

I want to render specific object like render mask in vray.

Q.5 When I check Output Denoising AOV and render, there is 'Variation' Render pass in EXR file.

Is this pass by using denoise in Nuke?

Just connect Nuke Denoiser?

3. Please post the header from an Arnold log.

4. No

5. The variance AOV is used by noice (the Arnold denoiser)

Thanks you for your answer.

3. As you see Q.2, I don't know how to check that log.

4. OK.. Got it

5. Ok Thanks!

I solved the bucket problem.

I see the 'Save UI Threads' in Render tab, in Arnold RenderView.

That value set 2. So I changed 2 to 0 and my bucket works 8!

3. It's in the render settings, and the docs. On the Diagnostics tab.

re: threads
There's a reason why we save "Save UI Threads": so that the UI still works while IPR is running

1: set specular back to 1 or 2 and use adaptive sampling
(diffuse_indirect aka indirect is not a problem in this kind of scenes)
