Standard Volume to 3dsmax fluids does not work

How can we add standard volume to 3dsmax fluid. It renders black what ever parameter I use in the shader or in the foam render settings (a spoint, sphere, ...changing the size or what ever).

Does standard volume work with fluids or not?

thanks

No, it doesn't. Volume shaders in Arnold require volumetric data files, such as OpenVDB.

on that link they use standard volume to render fluids with arnold points :

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_8WJ_T77tnM

It has been done with 3dsmax 2018.3

We have 2018.4 and it cannot render the arnold points fluids with standard volume applied on it...

Any suggestions?

thanks

so you set the step size to a non-zero value and it didn't work?

yes exactly. I cannot have any volume shader rendered with fluids. I did not test it with 3dsmax 2019, only 2018 with the update 4.

I tested it with 3dsmax 2019.2 and have the same result: no volume shader rendering with fluids...
