Hello, I would like to know the best approach to texturize mountains and landscapes.
you may look into a 'snow' shader for altitude and then triplanar mapping for easy texturing.
Hi, Sorry but I can't see any "snow" shader on C4dtoA.
Please which node can detect the inclinations. Like "Terrain Mask" on C4d.
Thanks
HI, Sorry again but I can't find that aiUtillity it really looks like I'm on the wrong forum here. I'm C4dtoA user. I'm looking for a way to create a kind of snow shader.
Thank you for your help, I really do not understand how I can use Utility node to distribute snow depending on slope on a terrain.
I see that the "Snow" shader it is only for Maya, I'm looking for a "slope" node solution on Cinema4D to Arnold plugin.
thanks.
try this use in cinema

@Diego Bonati You could use a combination of curvature shader and a ramp_float to mix two surface shaders, then you have control over the slope and the level of mix.
Hi, thank you for your help, I tried your set up on Cinema4D but it don't seems to work, The Utility node it is on Shade mode Flat and Color mode Normal like you.
Hi, well that it is not a real terrain texturing solution since it is based on curvature and not in degrees slope.
Please take a look to the attached screenshot you will see that with real slope C4d solution you have blue color also in the 0º normal surfaces.
I think the good solution is the one made by @Viacheslav Sych but for some reason it not seems to work on C4DtoA.
Thank you for you help and screenshot.
Hello, I finally found a solution that works on C4dtoA.
I liked the idea of mixing two different shaders one for rock and one for snow but then the Utility Slope is not bump sensitive and much detail is lost.
Here you can control the degrees slope with Ramp float node.
Thank you all for your help.
