Complex IOR where to connect?

Hey together,

Can someone please explain me, where to connect the Complex IOR in the most recent Arnold version for C4D? I always connected it to the Specular color. Is this correct? And should I change something else?

Thanks in advance.

The complex_ior shader is actually deprecated in Arnold 5 together with the standard shader. The new standard_surface shader has complex Fresnel built-in which you can control via the Metalness parameter.

Alright, but is it still possible to add the ior for each wavelength? Or is the only thing I can control the metalness and the color of spec and the base?

The standard_surface supports only the artistic mode, Base color as the Reflectivity, Specular color as the Edgetint. The physical mode (specifying n, k) is not directly supported, but you can load presets saved in the complex_ior shader.

there aren't wavelenghts but rgb colors in arnold, complexior with colors (what peter is talking about) returns an rgb triplet where each scalar is applied to the respective rgb channel where fresnel is used.
