I been having this Issue in Arnold that i have been ignoring for some time but now its starting to cost me. at times the displacements on my character stop rendering and there is no indication on how this happens or how it gets fixed, usually it gets fixed if i just start unplugging and plugin back nodes and close and reopen the render window a few times.
Right now im sending my renders to a render farm and almost 8/10 times the displacements dont show up in the render, so i pay $5 per frame to find out that the displacements glitched again. i already lost $50 on dud renders and i need a solution
No indication? There's nothing in the Arnold log?
I have not checked the log recently but as far as I know it happens randomly with no warning or reputability. As i mentioned above, it was heaping to be while I was in the process of lookdeving my character and the only way to get the displacements to show up again was to basically "poke" it until it jump started and by poke i mean change displacement intensity values up and down, unplug nodes and plug them back in. etc... but now that im using a render farm to render out my final shot, 9/10 times it comes back with no displacements on it. im becoming desperate since its costing me $5 a frame
Maybe the disp maps are not being loaded? We'll never know unless we can see a log.
Im not sure how I would be able to get the Arnold log since its being rendered at a render farm, but i will try as soon as i get home, if the displacment is failing to load, any ideas on how I might be able fix this? any known touble shooting tricks?
Hello again, so I checked the log, and it seems like this warning keeps poping up on the displacment map
"wrong data type 7 for "RichTIFFIPTC"; tag ignored."
