Seems like this problem started after I updated to the latest version of Arnold-- I am also using 3ds Max 2019. Render looks fine in the render window and I can save out jpgs. and pngs. without issue but this is what the EXRs look like when I try to save those out... The black is actually transparent but I dropped it in in photoshop to show what is actually there. Any ideas what might be going on? Driving me absolutely nuts-- I have colleagues waiting on like 25 renders...
How/where are you saving the EXR files from? Do you get the same with 32-bit Tiffs? Can you open them in another compositing package, like Nuke for example?
I first noticed the problem after looking at the batch render I had ran before leaving the office last night. Files were saved to a folder in my desktop. Same issue when hitting the save icon from the production render window. Haven't tried with a 32bit Tiff. Will give that a go. Same issue in other compositing packages-have tried in both premier and AE.

Can confirm that 32 bit TIF is working fine.
