Within Nuke I've had luck building a "noise target" then using this file to sample a noise profile from. My target is just a scene with specific places for nuke to sample AOVs from that I can plug in settings. It works OK for relatively clean renders as a final touch, and can be automated. Though Altus is obviously better.
