shadow group in ass file

hello guys,


i have a wired thing going on in a ASS export.

if i export my geometry i get this line and have no idea where this use_shadow_group option is coming from:

polymesh
{
 name /obj/ass_export1_tmp_nodes/geo1/polygons
 matrix
 1 0 0 0
 0 1 0 0
 0 0 1 0
 0 0 0 1
 shader 2 1 NODE
"/shop/WOOD_MAT/standard_surface1" NULL
 use_shadow_group on
 shadow_group "/obj/arnold_light1"

does one of you know what it does and where i can disable it?

the problem with it is, if i add a light for instance, this option will produce an error.

i've never heard shadow groups before and couldn't find something useful in the documentation.

i tried to repruduce this in an simple scene, but never got this option...

A shadow group is the group of lights that cast shadows from the object.

So the Houdini scene has some light masks or shadow masks.

i couldn't find the issue yet. the scene is to big and i didn't set it up.

but i found a workaround and can keep working.
