picture viewer render stops after every 3-8 frames

Hi Forum,

The project I'm working on hits an error after every 3-8 frames rendered. It happens when Arnold begins rendering a new frame.

gpu] an error happened during rendering : Unknown error (Details: Function "_rtContextLaunch2D" caught exception: Encountered a CUDA error: cudaDriver().CuEventSynchronize( m_event ) returned (700): Illegal address)

Windows 10, C4D r21, 4x 1080ti GPUs (not overclocked). I've tried reinstalling c4d, Arnold, updating drivers but it still fails on the same regular basis, an average of 6 frames rendered than error, and this console message.

The latest Nvidia studio drive is installed 442.92

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Can you show us debug level logs of these frames? Here are the instructions how to setup log files: https://docs.arnoldrenderer.com/display/A5AFCUG/Log

There was an issue recently in a texture heavy scene, which caused by auto tx. It was not related to GPU, so probably your case is something else, but maybe it's worth checking if disabling auto tx and generating tx files manually makes any difference: https://answers.arnoldrenderer.com/questions/26263/c4dtoa-keeps-crashing-upon-render-but-weirdly-onl...

Thank you Peter for the link! My scene had the same problem, the tile floor was duplicated to be a dynamics collider but I forgot to switch oof the visibility or take down the textures from it. Now it keeps rendering Allright.

Glad to hear you've found the problem and it's working fine now.
