Arnold Metal Support - Mac

With the imminent release of Octane X, it was previously said by Steven Blair that they would be looking into ways of supporting GPU rendering on the mac. It is now over a year since that comment and wanted to know if there has been any update on this matter. Arnold is a very versatile renderer and I would love to be able to use it on my Mac pro in conjunction with my Radeon Pro Vega II Duo.

Will we get an update in the future. Octane and Redshift supports Metal on Mac. Is it also planned for Arnold?

There's no specific plans right now. Arnold on Optix is what we're working on.

Just adding my voice to say I would also love to see Arnold GPU developed for Metal someday as well. I prefer Arnold on CPU over most GPU tenderest that I have used still just due to the ease of use and it’s great shading model.

No, there's no update. We're still working on Arnold GPU for NVidia Optix.
