Hello. Is it possible to lower the Skydome horizon for either the Physical Sky or an HDRI Skydome? I'm doing a render of an airplane high in the sky but every tutorial I've seen for Arnold's Skydome is for doing a render at ground level. I'd like it to appear as if the horizon is far below.
Hi, Thiago. No, below the horizon is more yellowish, like a sky with high turbidity. It's not black, but you can clearly see where the horizon is, which I'd like to be much lower.
Depending on your camera angle, you could cheat it by having two skydome lights with a physical_sky connected to each one. One skydome light is only visible to Camera which you can rotate up or down and the other is not visible to Camera (for lighting).
Thanks, Lee! This is a decent workaround for when there are views from the interior looking out. But I've now moved to making renders of the exterior and I'm not entirely sure how I will handle it...
Yeah, using an HDRI is a good suggestion. I found a couple of free "above the clouds" HDRI's that have been working great so far!
