Arnold GPU severe exposure difference

I'm doing some tests as I'd like to start using Arnold GPU now that its out of Beta. I understand that its supposed to have a pretty good match with CPU renders. When I change my CPU scene to render in GPU I find that the exposure goes crazy.

I've made a new ROP and the only settings change are "override camera resolution (1/3rd resolution" and the render device changed to GPU.

Is there something not compatible yet with GPU? like light filters?

Hi Adam, Light filters should be supported. Can you tell us more about the Arnold version you are using, and either help us repro by either describing the lighting/shading setup or sharing the scene ?

Thanks

HI Adrien,

Thanks, I have found some information that light linking is not yet supported - this would explain the crazy result i think (although i'll do some more tests today).

In answer to you question - I'm using 6.0.4.1. if the weirdness continues - i'll share the scene

We released Arnold 6.1 last week with support for light linking : https://docs.arnoldrenderer.com/pages/viewpage.action?spaceKey=A5ARP&title=6.1.0.0

Adrien,

That's music to my ears! Thanks!

Hi Adrien,

One thing I am noticing is that i'm having to stop/start the IPR a lot to get the render to update. This is usually after adjusting ramps on light filters and anything remotely to do with connecting textures or color correction. Does this have plans for improvement? I'm running an RTX 3090.

Hi Adrien,

Sorry, i'd like to add that Houdini's "forced Matte" function doesn't appear to be working on the GPU either.
