Rendering sand based texture

Hi, I am rendering a product with a sand based texture. The sand seems to be confused by the render as grain, and it "moves" during the animation (see detail). It looks like animated flickering but there is no random used. I use C4Dscreen-shot-2020-12-29-at-124852-pm.png

What sampling settings are you using? Try increasing Camera (AA) and/or specular samples. Maybe lock_sampling_pattern could also help.

Hi Lee, I am using the following combination AA 5 Diffuse 4 Specular 3 Transmission 2 SSS 3 Volume Indirect 2. the problem is that my iMac -pro 2017 with Radeon Pro Vega 56 8 GB - takes 10 min per frame with this combination, and I have to render 1 min video... Lock sampling pattern solved partially the problem... now the sand is blocked but when the camera moves, the sticker over the product moves accordingly with the camera, but the sand texture not... it looks like separated from the product

Try increasing Camera (AA) and lowering the other sampling settings.

How many light samples/ ray_depth are you using?

They seem quite high. What happens if you lower everything and increase Camera (AA)?

the film graining effect disappears but now it looks that the sand texture is blocked into the xyz coordinate while the object moves

I find it hard to imagine what that looks like. Can you post a gif or video of what you are seeing?

sorry I can't, I would violate copyright law related to the product. I can show it to you on chat/skype but I cannot upload anywhere

Can you assign it to a different object like a teapot?
