Exporting to USD

When I attempt to use the menu item Arnold > Shaders > Export > Export Selected Shaders, I always get a warning like this:

# Error: line 1: [scene] can't write scene file 'C:/Users/cking/Documents/maya/projects/default/Arnold_window.usd', unknown format #

Do you have any suggestions what might cause this?

That means that plugins/usd_proc.dll was not loaded.

What is printed in the Output Window (by MtoA) at startup?

It turns out to be a problem with my environment. I built a wrapper script that creates a simple environment for maya.
