Controlling Spot Lights within MoGraph Cloner

Does anyone know if there's a way of controlling either colour or exposure of a series of spotlights inside a Mograph Cloner?

Basically I have 25 spot lights lighting up a long corridor. I want to be able to control their intensity using fields. I know this is possible using mesh lights (by assigning it a material and driving the material using UserData RGB etc)... however I can't find an equivalent that works with spot lights (as you can't assign a material to a spot!). I've also tried using Xpresso, using a remapped field to drive the exposure of the cloned spot... but that seems to only effect all the lights, not them individually.

Any suggestions/ideas, would be hugely appreciated.

Last time I tried it didn't work, but was more than a year ago. Arnold can use native C4D lights in a limited capacity, sort of like the conversion it can do for basic materials. I was successful in controlling a series of point lights in a cloner using a Shader Field driven by a Noise Shader, all rendered in Arnold. The same might work with the native C4D spotlight.

Edit : Here's the tutorial I used. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IofBunjv47Q
