Render not starting with MtoA USD Point Instancer

We have a USD file that is point instanced in Houdini and that we are exporting using the USD ROP node to disk. This USD file can be referenced and rendered fine inside of Houdini, but fails a large portion of the time in Maya. When attempting to render in the Arnold RenderView in Maya, the progress bar will get stuck at 0% and no logs are printed. Eventually, when we attempt to halt the render, Maya freezes entirely and we have to force close it. We can successfully render the USD file in Maya about 10% of the time. Here is the collection of files that should replicate the issue: scatter_cube.zip

Maya Version: 2022.2
MayaUSD: 0.13.0
MtoA: 4.2.4

Arnold: 6.2.1.1

It seems like the number of instances is too much for the Arnold USD procedural.
