Using a meshlight translator inside a set.

Hi everyone!!!

@stephen!

I have an asset that needs to have an override using a set in Maya. One needs a meshlight translator.

But after testing on a simple scene, it gives this error:

# Error: CallbackError: file /Applications/solidangle/mtoa/2017/scripts/mtoa/callbacks.py line 342: Error during callback: -at expects type STRING #

Is that a known limitation?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

thanks

sly

So you have a set of meshes, and you want to use set overrides to change aiTranslator?

Unfortunately, it looks like aiTranslator (and a few other attributes aiTraceSets and aiUserOptions) are not supported for set overrides.

Hmm, but maybe you could use a set_parameter operator ?

Hey Stephen, Just depolyed the new Arnold on a newer fresh project to look at it and must admit the operators a really cool and powerfull. The expressions needed to select and set stuffs are pretty daunting for lighting artist tought. But still look's powerfull. Thanks!
