How can I make a simple matt for composting, using an object with a material applied, that has an image connected to the 'cutout opacity'?

I have an plane object with a material applied to it. The material has an image connected to the 'cutout opacity' of a standard shader, as an alpha, in order to cut out the shape of the plane object. I want to make a simple b/w matt for comping and was wondering wether there is a way to do it within Arnold? I have been using a workaround using Quickmat Pro and using standard render to create the diff matts but its not ideal.

Have you tried the Matte shader ?

Does the Matt shader allow for alphas though? I can connect the matt image to the colour port of the matt shader but that gives me black where I want 0% opacity.

Have you tried connecting it to the Opacity?

Lee,

Thanks for helping. Much appreciated. Connecting what to the opacity? The Matt shader has colour and seethrough. Neither do what I need it to.
