I understand that I can get the C4D Plugins for Linux by requesting them from Solid Angle, but will I need a C4D license to get or use them?
I have a bunch of .ass files that were built in C4D from my previous
job, and the only way I can render them is to use Python and kick, or maybe Houdini if I renew (can I render .ass files from indie? I know I can't write them).

A C4D license? No.
You need an Arnold license if you want to remove the watermark
Ok Cool. I'll be getting a subscription to Arnold shortly then. Thank you!
