I've got a house that I'm trying to render, I want to show the ground and view of the water in the windows, so I set the material for them to be chrome. I can see the deck in the reflection just fine, but anything past that is just gray.
I made the ground a bright pink just to see if I could see it in the window, no luck.
Have you added a texture to the Environment/skydome lighting?
@Lee Griggs Yes I did, embarrassingly enough I figured that out pretty recently. it seems like I've got everything figured out that I need, just don't know why the windows are reflecting gray past the deck. Is there any other info that would help?
@Ysnsnk Ysnsnk would that help the reflections? I don't want to see the inside of the house really, I just want to show the reflections.
i found this thread to how can you it,incase if you dont know
I do know about that for getting transparent windows, but I don't want to show the inside of the house, I just want to show the reflections in the windows of outside, is there a way to get the reflections to show further than what I'm getting right now?
i'm not sure but you can add some emission to your water material might help. but i'm not sure its look cool or anything
you can add emission to your water material, that might help.and if its not look good you can duplicate your water 1 for render and one for just reflection. you can do the settings in arnold object settings
the normal are correct? How many rays are correct? Let's say with a value of 3? the materials are Arnold all?
Can you post a simplified scene?
